On Oct. 26th, General Laurent Nkunda, the leader of rebel forces in the area, launched an offensive in Goma, the capital of North Kivu province. Although a ceasefire was declared, Nkunda once again launched an offensive on November 17th.<br /><br />I interviewed Severine Autesserre, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Barnard College. Professor Autesserre has specialized in Congo for her academic research.<br /><br />A note on the MP3 file: Somehow the first five minutes of recording was cut off.
